Program Overview:

The Master of Engineering Leadership (MEL) as well as Master of Health Leadership and Policy (MHLP) programs are designed for practicing professionals who want to combine graduate-level technical courses with foundational business, management, and leadership development courses. This hybrid program combines graduate-level engineering and urban planning courses. These courses will give you the skills and confidence to build your career and drive innovation in urban planning. However, two uniquely innovative master’s degrees are offered by the Master of Engineering Leadership program by the University of British Columbia.

Tuition Fee:

The indicative annual fee of enrolling in the Master of Engineering Leadership is :

  • C$30,406.35 per year for domestic students.
  • C$56,541.75 per year for international students.

Entry Requirements:

  • To be eligible, you must meet the minimum professional experience requirement for the program you wish to study. This is typically two to three years of full-time work experience in a related field, by the start date of the program. We only count professional experience gained after you graduated from your bachelor’s degree towards this requirement.
  • Applicants must have a bachelor’s degree in a field relevant to the program you wish to study. You must also meet UBC’s minimum academic requirements which are based on the country where you completed your undergraduate degree.
  • If you studied in Canada or the United States, you must have completed an undergraduate degree and attained an overall average of 76% in your upper years of study.
  • On the other hand, If you studied outside of Canada or the US, you must meet the minimum academic requirements for the country where you completed your undergraduate degree.

Apply for the UBC Applied Science Professional Programs online. You can save your application and continue working on it at a later time. Applications are not reviewed by the admissions committee until all of the following required documentation is received online:

  • Letter of intent
  • CV for Resume
  • A copy of you transcripts or degree certificates
  • Three references
  • Results of English Language Proficiency
  • Proof and residency

Intake Sessions:

The University of British Columbia has three application intakes. Nevertheless, for all three intakes, the application window for international students opens in September only of every year.
