The program is a two-year course of study that starts in April and October of each year. It is composed of three blocks each consisting of lab and theory modules which are accompanied by lectures and seminars with current topics from guest speakers.
The first block is mandatory. It gives students a deeper insight into basic concepts of biochemistry.
The second block is composed of a second major subject plus an extension topic. The second major subject can be chosen according to each student’s interest among options from chemistry, cell biology or microbiology.
The third block is the Master’s thesis. With a duration of six months, the thesis concludes the programme. During this time, students work independently on a scientific problem under the supervision of a group leader in a lab of their choice.
