Course Details:

Copenhagen Business School is recognised as having the only part-time Executive MBA in Shipping and Logistics in the world. The mission of this unique MBA is to give high-potential executives in the shipping industry an up-to-date insight into modern management theories and their application in the maritime sector. The programme is divided into eight week-long modules and runs over 22 months, allowing participants to join from anywhere in the world.

The programme adopts a holistic view of shipping, integrating commercial, technological and financial aspects as well as maritime law, supply-chain management and leadership challenges.

Participants will be taken to the top international level in business administration, reflecting the needs of the industry in a world where globalisation, enhanced competition, and the speed of technological change place ever-increasing demands on executive management skills. Teaching takes place in state-of-the-art facilities in Denmark, Germany, and the UK.

Enrollment Requirements:

The program starts every other year in September and applications are considered on a rolling basis.

  • A bachelor’s degree from a recognized academic institution or equivalent;
  • Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT) or similar documented qualification;
  • Minimum of five years of work experience in a relevant field;
  • Two personal recommendations.

About the University/Institution:

The day-to-day management is carried out by the President within a framework laid down by the Board. The other management carry out their duties as authorised by the President.

CBS’ core activities (education and research) are organised under two deans, a Dean of Research and a Dean of Education. The Dean of Education is responsible for all programmes; bachelor and master programmes, MBA and diploma programmes. The study boards and the programme directors are responsible to the Dean of Education.

The Dean of Research has the strategical and organisational responsibility of CBS’ research and research staff.

The University Director has the overall responsibility of CBS’ finances and the managerial responsibility of all cross-functional administrative units, the CBS Library and the CBS Campus.

This business school has one faculty, and the research is organised in departments. The departments are administered by a head of department who is responsible to the Dean of Research. The programmes are not organised in the departments, however, the departments deliver teaching to CBS’ programmes within their area of expertise.

The President has appointed a Vice President for International Affairs, who provides consultancy to the president on international matters and represents CBS in international relations.

CBS has an Academic Council, who make statements to the President (as advisors) and take part in ensuring the quality and the legitimacy of academic decisions. The council also contributes to the communication between management, staff and students.

Our core activities are supported by a number of administrative functions at different levels.
