The MA Development Studies program enables students to develop the advanced knowledge, analytical skills, and conceptual frameworks required to understand and navigate economic and social development complexities.

Who should study in this degree program?

This program is suitable for mid-career professionals with a first degree in social sciences and any development-related field. Eligible students from developing and emerging countries are especially welcome.

Tuition Fee:

This program has no tuition fees. But the semester contribution fee is 84.50 EUR per semester. This covers the student services association and bus pass fees.

Academic admission requirements for Master of Arts in Development Studies :

Applicants must have a first (bachelor’s or equivalent) university degree in social sciences, Sociology, Political Science, Administrative Sciences, Economics, Anthropology, Demography, Practical Social or Human Geography, or any other equivalent degree with a minimum of 60 ECTS.

Methods and theories of development research
Interdisciplinary Development Seminar
Module Region B: Research (at least 25 ECTS credits)

The “Research Methods” module group consists of modules on research methods as well as a research seminar and two research practices. Students must earn a minimum of 25 ECTS credits in this module group to proceed. Completion of research seminars and syllabus is compulsory for all students in the program. All modules in this group except colloquia are test modules.
