Without electronics, modern society would not be possible, since everything is based on processing and passing on of information. For decades, all-important technical innovations have contained a substantial amount of electronics. For example, the Internet, mobile phones, comfort functions in automobiles, and efficient household appliances would not be conceivable without electronics. Around 80% of all innovations in automotive manufacturing today are based on the employment of modern electronics.

Electronics make it possible to find perfectly new beginnings for solving perplexing and ongoing engineering challenges. The electrical and electronics engineer is able to examine a complex array of tasks with systematic methods and to compile appropriate solutions as well as effectively employ technical expertise and soft skills in an interdisciplinary, team-based environment and develop innovative engineering solutions.

Course Details:

Altogether, the degree program consists of seven semesters of full-time study. A solid foundation in science and engineering is imparted in the first three semesters. Following this, your knowledge will be enhanced in key specialist areas in the fourth and fifth semesters.

During this time, students also choose elective courses to form a more robust and meaningful study profile. The sixth semester is dedicated to gathering practical work experience at a company or organization in the biomaterials field or alternatively to spend a semester abroad. The seventh and last semester is for writing the thesis.

Here, we also attach great importance to practical relevance and support collaborative theses with the private sector. Furthermore, the necessary skills for writing a thesis are provided in intense block courses during the seventh semester. The study program concludes with an oral presentation on the research findings in the thesis.
