Rhine-Waal University of Applied Sciences 7 Semesters
Germany Full Time
Bachelor's Onsite

Crude oil, the most important raw material base of the past 100 years, will be less available in the future. Alternatives will soon become necessary, and this is where the Biomaterial Sciences come into play. Based on materials science, examples of developments, processes, and products of basic engineering materials will be presented in this degree course. In addition (and also in contrast to many other Biomaterial Sciences degree courses at other universities), the interface to biological systems is emphasized with courses on natural, biodegradable, and biocompatible materials as well as recycling and ecology aspects.

Some parts of the curriculum are not directly related to materials science. These parts of the curriculum allow the student important insights in economic science, integrated management systems, and cross-cultural competence. The main application fields following graduation include the leisure industry, the environmental industry, the aerospace, and automotive industries, medicine, and more. Successful graduates also qualify for the Bionics/Biomimetics graduate program offered at Rhine-Waal University of Applied Sciences.
