AAHD Scholarship

The American Association on Health and Disability (AHD) is to identify effective intervention strategies to contribute to the national state as well as local efforts to reduce health inequality between disabled people and the general public. The grant is open to any graduate students with disabilities, with preference given to those who are pursuing a course of study related to disability and health. 180 Medical College Scholarship

This scholarship is open to graduate students with spinal cord injuries, spina bifida, transverse myelitis, neurogenic bladder, or ostomy. Moreover, eligible students can study in any field.  we offer this program as a way to give back and invest in the future of inspiring students who have faced adversity and continue forward with their career goals. ELA Foundation Scholarship

Ethel Louise Armstrong (ELA) Foundation Scholarship is for women with disabilities who are currently pursuing graduate degrees. With the mission of “Change the Face of Disability on the Planet.” ELA Scholarships are available only to women graduate students with physical disabilities who are enrolled in a college or university in the United States. Recipients get this award on an objective and nondiscriminatory basis. However, scholarships range between $500 and $2,000. The deadline for application is early June. Learn more here.

The Ulman Foundation Scholarship

The Ulman Fund for Young Adults Scholarship awarded to a Baltimore or Washington, D.C. area graduate student who has battled cancer or supported a relative during their cancer journey. Awards are not dependent on the area of study. The foundation helps to continue cancer patients’ education after their diagnosis. The scholarship winners will be awarded a total of $2500 in two academic semesters. Further, scholarship funds are given directly to the degree-giving institution and can be applied to either undergraduate or graduate programs. The application deadline is early March. Elizabeth Nash Foundation Scholarship

To support persons with cystic fibrosis( CF), this scholarship is provided. The program’s inception in 2005 to pursue undergraduate and graduate degrees. More than 160 grants have been awarded. The Elizabeth Nash scholarships recognize students pursuing a wide variety of degrees at accredited institutions in the United States. While selecting applicants, the Foundation Committee takes into consideration each applicant’s scholastic record, character, demonstrated leadership, service to CF-related causes as well as the broader community. Soozie Courter Hemophilia Scholarship

The Soozie Courter Hemophilia Scholarship Program designed to encourage students living with physical disabilities to achieve their educational goals. For example, graduate students who have hemophilia A or hemophilia B are candidates for receiving this award, which is sponsored by Pfizer. For more than 20 years, Pfizer provides educational support to students living with hemophilia. However, the grant amount is a total of $4,000. The deadline for application is late May. Lighthouse Guild Scholarship

Lighthouse Guild(LG) supports higher education for all individuals. This grant is for qualified high school and college students who are seeking to broaden their higher education experience. Basically, LG offers scholarships for students with vision loss that help them make a successful transition to college and graduate education. They also provide a scholarship each year to a qualifying graduate student. For instance, visually disabled students with a record of strong academic accomplishment and merit can apply for this scholarship. The recipient will receive up to $10,000.
